2022 was an amazing year for me personally and with my BMX Coaching!!
For my BMX Coaching I completed by Level 2 and Level 2 BMX Specific qualifications with British Cycling along with my Emergency First Aid training with ISW, this has meant I'm now
fully qualified to continue on my coaching career, i'm so grateful to be part of the first set of people to take advantage of British Cycling's change of approach with coaching and
lowering the age limits.
I've now started weekly group BMX coaching sessions at Torbay BMX Club and you can book online by visiting there facebook page,
then there is are my individual sessions which have started to pick up and can be delivered at a number of tracks across the SouthWest with some advanced warning, if you'd like to book please contact me.
I'm also really pleased with my outcomes for 2022 on the racing front, picking up Regional 1 & SouthWest 1 in my age group and completing a full year of National racing finishing the season in 12th but making my first 'A' Final along the way.
Then there were the "Worlds" (BMX World Championship's) in Nantes France, this was a whole new exciting experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately I got moto'd and didn't make the final rounds but that still gives me experience for future years.
So onto 2023
I've been working on my goals for 2023 and training really hard over the winter period ready for the race season. I'm waiting to apply for the 2023 World Championship's in Glasgow this year and really hope to make it through for another sureal experience on the world stage.
There is a shortend National calendar this year where i intend to improve my results, but I'm making up for the lack of races by competing in a couple of the European BMX Rounds in Zolder and Portugal. It's going to be tough but the experience is important for me and my knowledge for coaching the younger generations.
On the coaching front I'm planning to complete my Gym Instructor course and embark on the Personal Trainer course so in the future I can consider doing Individual coaching plans including Gym and Fitness work. This will co-incide well with my A Level PE I'm currently working through.
I will be continuing the weekly trainig sessions at Torbay BMX and have a couple of spaces left for indivudal BMX coaching which I fit between my studies.
I look forward to the 2023 season and improving others with my bmx coaching sessions, if you'd like to be part of the family please contact me.
